About this guide
A working encyclopedia, not a sales catalogue
Most of what you find about Mediterranean fish online is either a sales catalogue or a scientific paper behind a paywall. This guide sits between the two: every species has a Turkish name, an English common name, the family it belongs to, and a short field description — illustrated with a hand-drawn specimen plate.
Entries are grouped into working families (white fish, pelagics, shellfish, bottom-dwellers, and so on) so you can browse by what you caught, not by what an algorithm wants to show you. We update the guide as the season — and the sea — turns.
- Photographed & illustrated specimen plates
- Turkish, English, and Ukrainian names side by side
- Grouped by family, not by price or popularity
